John Burgess, International Profit Associates Founder and Managing Director
John R. Burgess founded International Profit Associates (IPA) in Chicago in September 1991
and has been the driving force behind IPA’s success ever since.
IPA has become the largest management consulting company in the world serving the needs of small
and medium-size businesses in the U.S. and Canada which have revenues of $600,000 to $100,000,000.
In 2006 IPA had revenues of $250,000,000. No other management consulting company has reached $100
million in revenues faster than IPA. In 2006, IPA was ranked by Consultant’s News as the 41st
largest consulting company in the world for all types of businesses. In November 2004, Crain’s
Chicago Business ranked IPA as the 6th largest management consulting company in Chicago.
Throughout IPA’s history, John Burgess has provided the company with an ever-expanding vision to serve
the needs of small and medium-size businesses. IPA has become the premier business development company
for entrepreneurs in North America.
Prior to founding IPA, Mr. Burgess was a commodities trader with the Chicago Board of Trade, practiced
law in New York and was an executive with a management consulting firm.
Mr. Burgess received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Roger Williams College, Providence,
Rhode Island and a Juris Doctor from the New England College of Law, Boston, Mass.
